What a game hey? The second quarter that hurt the Broncos all season turned out to be the Broncos best quarter all season against the Steelers. Fantastic. Of course you all know what is number one but there were several other key plays that made this game electric!
5) Tim Tebow Touchdown Pass to Eddie Royal!

4) Tim Tebow long pass to Demaryius Thomas. The more I see Thomas play the more I shake my head at how strong this man is.
3) Tim Tebow touchdown run - Its predictable but it works every time. Tim has such a good eye for the endzone that when he gets the ball there, it seems to always be a touchdown.
2) Tim Tebow long pass to Daniel Fells - This is higher than you might think on the list but the throw on the run was on the money and the fact that it was Daniel Fells that got that open. Great connection between those two on the play.
1) Tim Tebow touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in overtime.......'Nuff Said.
I am interning at TSN in Canada so I have seen this play 100's of times now. I still get chills....Just incredible. On the same level as the Marshawn Lynch run as last year at this time.
Hope you liked the top 5 offensive plays against the Steelers. Later today I will have the top five defensive plays.

Top Offensive Plays #3
That was a terrific run by Tebow – really, really good. I think – a huge play in that game, you could the Steelers beginning to wonder – what the heck is going on here.
profootballfan - January 11, 2012
Thanks for putting these together
That is some good ish man.
sadaraine - January 11, 2012
You know what is cool?
Not having enough room in the top 5 for all your plays of 30+ yards
Teboner - January 11, 2012
I love seeing Beadles put Polamalu on his face on Tebow's TD run!
sirsam - January 11, 2012
Yeah
Beadles is really coming along in is LG spot.
NYCBronx - January 11, 2012
And a nice block by Matt Willis, of all people,
on Farrior. I hadn’t noticed that one before.
Broncs Cheer - January 11, 2012
Willis is a really good blocker for a WR
but even OL have trouble blocking Farrior
AlbertaBronc - January 11, 2012
And it completely pissed Farrior off
Which makes it even more notable. WR blocking that gets in a LBs head is money in the bank, just waiting for the right time to make a withdrawal.
shasta77 - January 11, 2012
Didn't see it live
Heckuva job by Willis
Chingas - January 11, 2012
WOW! That IS awesome!
I just became a HUGE Willis fan. He’s just such a blue collar no nonsense WR.
I hope he can replicate some of his preseason success on Saturday since he’ll be getting some looks. That was a serious block on a stud LB!!
Thanks for pointing that out BC.
Mile High ThundaDownUnda - January 12, 2012
hadn't noticed that one before.
that’s awesome
Bartimaeus - January 11, 2012
I wonder if watching the #1 play will ever get old
I keep replaying it every day, multiple times a day…
trumanj - January 11, 2012
Me too...LOL
sirsam - January 11, 2012
Really enjoy these Colby
Not sure if anyone has noticed or mentioned it yet, but on the Tebow touchdown run keep your eye on Beadles as he is pulling. As he hits the hole he touches Franklin on the back and you immediately see Franklin disengage from his seal block and move down field with Beadles.
That was the coolest part of the play from my perspective. Communication, anticipation and reaction from the O-line. It seems to show a good sign of their progression and that are really starting to gel.
Choochoobonewagon - January 11, 2012 via mobile
Saw that too!
Then Franklin just mauls the next guy, he’s a beast run blocker.
shasta77 - January 11, 2012
This is history being made right here. Thanks for the clips.

McCoy finally playing to Tebow's present moment skill set
NFL Films had a great article that captured my thoughts about McCoy’s not designing plays to Tebow’s skills. Here’s a quote from that article. The play action naked boot leg play was the Elway staple I have been screaming for all season long, hell even into last season. This is exactly what was meant by getting Tebow out in space to see the open spots in the field. As his receivers learn how to flow to the open spots Tebow’s passing will open up even more.
“Against the Steelers, for the first time, Tebow made those throws from the pocket with consistency. He was accurate on his intermediate and downfield passes. That was supplemented by Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy’s brilliant game plan in which he designed some pass plays that required no progression reading and little anticipation. That’s outstanding coaching: minimize and camouflage Tebow’s passing limitations.”
BroncoCUbuffs - January 11, 2012
Was that the same article that disected the strike to Fells?
I cannot remember if I saw it here or if it was linked on IAOFM, but the article mentioned play #4 and how well drawn up it was.
Fells breaks off the flat portion of his route goes vertical the second he sees Troy P crashing. The play was drawn up to take advantage of Troy P’s aggressiveness and was executed flawlessly. Awesome play.

Great replay of the 98 and a 1/2 yard drive against Cleveland too...NEVER get tired of watching it!
BroncoCUbuffs - January 11, 2012
Loved Simms explaining the Fells play
They had seen the Broncos run it on Friday, and how it was designed to take advantage of Polamalu’s tendency to jump routes. Fells sells the crossing route, peeks to the right to see where Polamalu is (and he’s promptly jumping the route), then turns up the field into the open spot. Sweet call, great route, and perfect throw. Hope to see more of those this week.
shasta77 - January 11, 2012
Ha!
We are showing some synergy in out posts :P.

Made me laugh, too!

We bring in any kind of short game and NE won't know what to cover
Tim gets some nice early throws to backs, TE, slot receivers in the 5-10 area and it will give the NE fits. It will open up running lanes as well as make the safeties vulnerable to throws over the top. The deep throws against the Steelers were huge in giving the defense something else to think about.
McCoy runs some quick hitters (like the throw to Ball in the 4th quarter), and you open up all kinds of options for play-action and rollouts.
shasta77 - January 11, 2012
We will see the screen open back up now that the other team has to honor the pass.
Tebow sells some pretty mean screens…thinking Houston last year.
BroncoCUbuffs - January 11, 2012
Suprised
Not to see the 50+ yard bomb to DT on the 3rd and 12(?) that happened right after Decker went down. Our offense was putrid until that point and that play seemed to start turning it all around. I could be wrong, but I think that was also our first first down. Either way it’s nice to have too many great plays on offense for this list.

Play #4--I wish DT had "trusted his speed"
and headed for the opposite corner after the catch. He would have had a 70-yard TD to go with his 80-yarder….
Broncs Cheer - January 11, 2012
Yeah me too
But it did look like he was having fun spinning Ike around multiple times.
asinsoin - January 11, 2012
professional
the best thing about DT is after his TD’s or amazing catches he just walks off. No show boating. It looks like he plans on doing it A LOT more. I love this team.
rclooman - January 11, 2012
EXACTLY,
Boiler etc - January 11, 2012
He acts like he's done this before.
Total class.
Thnikkaman - January 12, 2012
And did anyone notice Simms saying that
DT was from Central Florida on the replay of his OT catch?
Broncs Cheer - January 11, 2012
Yeah I noticed that when he said it live
Simms is normally pretty good and he’s not a draft guy so I’ll give him a pass there.
AlbertaBronc - January 11, 2012
I think he was just so shocked
He was simply trying to keep his cool and not go Gus Johnson on his pal Nance . . .
brettden - January 11, 2012
Apparently thinking of Brandon Marshall.
db8632 - January 11, 2012
Yeah, big receivers that we drafted
Beyond that, there is NO similarity.
MakeCents - January 11, 2012
BM = Glorified Posession Receiver
DT = Real Deep Threat …..not even close for a comparison :)
Disturbed70 - January 11, 2012
Thanks Colby!
Hope to see more of this Saturday! Go Broncos!
eastCOrange&Blue - January 11, 2012
Whoa
Those 1. are supposed to be.
Play #5
Play #4
Play #2
eastCOrange&Blue - January 11, 2012
Hail Demaryius
is still the favorite name I’ve heard for DT’s game winning touchdown catch
AlbertaBronc - January 11, 2012
God, I love this blog.
BluffCityBronco - January 11, 2012
Forgive me if I missed it Colby
But are you planning on doing a post on what it was like to be at that playoff game? After reading the pregame post about how excited you were, I’ve been really looking forward to hearing what it was like from a well-written fan like yourself.
Poster_Formerly_Known_As_Royal_Fan - January 11, 2012
High expectations for fans.....
this game will be a tough act to follow. These kind of perfect timings and matches and fakes, etc etc? Few fumbes, few penalties (comparatively speaking) Great feeling, huh?
For those who hope McCoy leaves? I disagree . I understand it is his job but he must be putting in some serious overtime preparing and practicing new schemes and plays.. In all fairness I think he has done quite well considering the current personnel (not a lot of big name talent) plus bringing Tebow along.
Kudos to the man.
Boiler etc - January 11, 2012
oops, forgot. Thanks for the post Colby
Boiler etc - January 11, 2012
Looks good Thanks!
I just wish that DT would have kept running to the corner on that second completion, that would have completely changed the game. But a win is a win and we move on, I love it!!!
JALefor - January 11, 2012
He trusted his speed at the end
Guessing the boys got in his ear a bit and said, “just run!” Which he did at the end. Loved McGahee’s quote during the last play, “trust your speed, trust your speed.” Clearly they had chatted about it. That’s what veterans add to the roster that you don’t see in the box score.
shasta77 - January 11, 2012
I think it's funny watching Troy Polamalu on Tebow's TD run.
He tries flying in but runs into a brick wall aka Zane Beadles. I “loled” big time during the game.
tiderfootball09 - January 11, 2012
Who said the Broncos couldn't score more than 20 points!?
Love the young guys on offense shining!
AlwaysRightSometimes - January 11, 2012
Champ
I love watching Champ jumping up and down on the sidelines during the last play. I want this team to keep winning just for him.
Tazzik - January 12, 2012
TY for these!
NFLN is also re-airing the game at 9am CST today. I recorded it SUN, but it will only take 1.5 hous of DVR space today. I’m keeping it forever so that’s important!
I was also shouting out Beadles on that run….he schooled Troy P.
Broncotodd - January 12, 2012
Yeah... I should not have opened this post at work.
Now I’m smiling uncontrollably and giggling with every video. I can’t wait to get my new office soon, so I can watch these without fear of getting caught…
