BIG PLAYS #17 (!): Pittsburgh @ Denver - Mile High Report
We're again referring to AdvancedNFLStats' game log to analyze the game and come up with the biggest plays of the game. Our definition of a big play is a play that changes the likelihood of the outcome of the game. We're looking at WPA to judge them. I hope

Denver wins the cointoss, defers and onsidekicks.
Be bold, be brave!
Go Broncos!

Fox will never do that. Ever. lol
Mr conservative.

No way, never in a million years.

I wish Fox would do something like this

It’s already been statistically shown that surprise onside kicks (as long as you don’t them TOO often) are worth it… But against a high-powered offense it’s even more of a no-brainer as that field position means even less.

But we don’t have Sean Payton, we have John Fox.

Even Tom Jackson picked Pats to win 28-24 . . .

Yikes!

In all logicality

I do too, but I have nothing to lose by being wrong so I am able to dream .Here is the game. Denver will control the clock by managing to run the ball and run the ball well. On defense, our bend but don’t break holds Mr. Brady to 3 FGs and two TDs. Tebow and McGahee both score a TD and get over 80 yards. Prater kicks a FG at the end of the 1st half. And for the game winner it’s a dump at the last second, before Tebow gets creamed, to Fells. We win 24-23. Tebow ribs are hurting. Hopefully he recovers by next week.

Let's hope this comes true:
After a rough start to their first matchup against Tim Tebow, the Patriots recovered to hold the Broncos to seven points over the final two-plus quarters. Will New England rekindle that strategy Saturday night in the divisional playoffs?

New England’s strategy wasn’t working so well for them in the first one and a half quarters (or so), before the Broncos went into self-destruct mode. So sure, rekindle that same strategy, New England! I dare you!

Positive thoughts today folks!!!

Let’s hope we
sack Brady into McD

I like our chances well enough to win this game!

I think we have no turn overs, we can win! I’m so glad we have this chance to shut the talking heads up. So what if we lose? Still been a great season. And look at all the other teams that didn’t make it. The one’s who were supposed to…

Anything can happen in a game like this and I don't the outcome will be the same (41-23)...

Mistakes lead to the Patriots come from behind victory and who knows what would have happened if the Broncos didn’t have those 3 TOs in the 2 quarter? The game probably would been a lot different. One thing that is very intriguing is the fact that the Patriots hang on to the ball and they rarely make any mistakes. This could be one of those rare occasions where things don’t go right for them.

Willis McGahee must have a big game and let’s hope he remains healthy. In the last contest he was hobbled and it hurt us in terms of the Patriots zeroing in on Tebow as the runner. A healthy Willis gives us a fighting chance.

Defense has to step up their coverage against the 5 Brady targets. Occasional “A” gap can be more successful than trying to get to Brady from the edges. I don’t see Von Doom getting to him very often and if they do I’ll be surprised…DJ Williams’ delayed blitz might be the ticket to cause some pressure and TOs. Too bad BDawk isn’t here because we could sure use him in those siituations. Carter is learning but he is still very raw in terms of progressions. I’m proud of the way he and Bruton have stepped up these last few weeks though and that might be a glimpse of the future.

Brady isn’t much of a verticle passer as he loves the underneath guy and they get most of their yards after the catch. I don’t think we’ll have much of a problem with miscommunication between the safeties and corners. Andre Goodman could become the star of this game like he a couple of times in season. Champ should be put on Hernandez where ever he lines up and Chris Carter on Branch. Tackling at the point of catch is a must! No more miss tackling, that’s what gutted us last time…

Does anybody believe David Binn will do the long snapping duties?

Just being on the team for a day is that long enough to get intune with the snap count? I see troubles if he starts. What I’m thinking is that he will be a safeguard backup to Russ Hochstein just in case Hoch get’s injured. As cold as it will be it will be hard enough for Prater to get enough leg on the ball from 45 yards on, I foresee a lot of 4th and short going for it. Still with the cold I think the Broncos hold the edge over the Pats in the kicking game.

Agree

Hoch will be the snapper, he has shown already he can do it. Binn is our safety net ( I hope )

How sweet would it be to play the Baltimore Ravens next week?

The obstacle in the way is the Patriots, but there could be something going on we can’t see or fore tell that might be setting up that matchup. Remember this…Ravens LBer Terrell Suggs made the statement on NFLNetwork that they didn’t need God on the sidelines to beat the Broncos! Not saying it would happen but it could. I would be pumped up for that game if it happens…

Too bad you won't have that chance.

The Broncos will be in Houston next week.

Good luck tonight; see you in the AFC Championship Game.

My comment was in reference to what Suggs said and the so-called "Devine Intervention"...

I too hope the Texans win because I like Gary Kubiak alot and wish him the best, but things are lining up shut the Ravens (Lion in Daniels den) mouth and silence the naysayers. We have to win this game first though and that won’t be an easy task for any team…

GO Kubiak!!!!!!!! GO TEXAN!!!!!!!

Until next week that is…..then its GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!

i hope jeff demps got the broncos

tebow and demps are gonna take off

We could use a Sproles type RB, but I still hold out that Mario Fannin will be one of our featured backs...
