Elway talked a lot to Adam Gase during the season, but didn’t talk directly to Tebow because he didn’t want “too many voices” in Tebow’s head during the year.
Troy Hufford - January 16, 2012
Tebow will be the guy heading into Training camp
we all figured that
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
Elway - "Timmy has earned the starting quarterback spot and will be the starter moving forward. Up to him to keep it."
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
Is he talking from
a space shuttle?
T.Dot_Bronco - January 16, 2012
I know, I was wondering what was going on
wiebrod - January 16, 2012
How far in are we guys?
iP_OnB - January 16, 2012
just the tip
T.Dot_Bronco - January 16, 2012
SUPER rec
Teboner - January 16, 2012
Teboner rec'ing "just the tip" being in...
…I have a feeling things are about to get a little bit weird.
GrizBronc - January 16, 2012
Griz,
Im just doing my job as a member
Teboner - January 16, 2012
come guys
get a room, lol just kidding….NOT, i love you guys, this has been and amazing season
gabriel suarez moreno - January 16, 2012
thanks.. just got it to connect!
iP_OnB - January 16, 2012
Elway: "When you look at the season as a whole, the experience that we gained being in the playoffs will definitely help us in the future."
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
He is wise!
Fabio Broncos - January 16, 2012
of course
that’s exactly how Elway appertained to greatness, he took lumps against the G-Men, Redskins and Niners and was better for it!
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Xanders: "Signing our own free agents...that are free"
Teboner - January 16, 2012
Xanders should take some pubic speaking classes
he’s pretty weak in that department
T.Dot_Bronco - January 16, 2012
Yeah.. not the most well spoken guy out there.
Matt In Canada - January 16, 2012
cracks me up.
he’s always glancing over at elway or fox, like,“right, guys, or…?”
oxmouth - January 16, 2012
Hahahaha
My thoughts exactly. Xanders opinions are the equivalent of a forwarded email containing Elway’s and Fox’s take on things. Tempted to change EFX to EF(x-ish)…oh Brian Brian Brian
DominantDenverDefense - January 16, 2012
I really don't care about it
If he does a good work as GM, that’s great for me.
Fabio Broncos - January 16, 2012
I dont really think he does
I think he’s more of a yes man and Elway is the real GM behind the scenes, with Foxy putting in input on the defense side of drafting
Calikula - January 16, 2012
I tend to agree with you Cali...
But we’ll never know it.
I just like the salary cap space he made… This we must admit was an awesome job “cleaning the house”.
Fabio Broncos - January 16, 2012
Alright, I'll give the Devil his due there
But I think he does more of the dirty work of the GM, while Elway and Fox have much more input on drafting.
Calikula - January 16, 2012
I loved public speaking in college
all the male and female athletes were the cool kids until they had to get up in front of the class and then they felt like they were three feet tall.
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Elway: The bandwagon's full again.. was pretty empty last year.
Matt In Canada - January 16, 2012
Yeah that struck me as weird
“Bandwagons” are typically stereotyped as bad things aren’t they? If someone told me I was on the Broncos bandwagon then there is a chance I would punch them in the face. According to John I’d be wrong to do that…James Harrison was right…I don’t understand this game anymore either. :-P
DominantDenverDefense - January 16, 2012
Well
I’ve always been a real fan, like all of you guys, so I don’t see it as anything to be upset about, I’m in the permanent Bronco fan camp!
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Translate... ticket sales and stadium seats being full
Da Bum - January 17, 2012
Elway: "I want to be able to be involved with Tim (Tebow), give him my advice, what I see."
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
I love hearing that
ElwayFanJ - January 16, 2012
Elway: "I believe your release is timed to your feet and drops ... accuracy/timing/rhythm all timed together."
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
Has anyone asked them a question
re adjustments (O-line, TE, etc) for Tebow being left-handed
yibberat - January 16, 2012
Broncos boss John Elway says there will be film session with Tim Tebow as well.
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
Jphn o
John in Castle Rock - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Elway - "The Pittsburgh showed he can make those throws, now it has to be consistent - doing it time and time again.. #Broncos
Scotty Payne - January 16, 2012
Has anyone asked a question not related to Tebow? It’d be nice to know their plan for the other 52 players on the team…
jbbroncosfan27 - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Von Miller is a badass, Champ Bailey still has it, Rahim Moore underachieved.
There.
Teboner - January 16, 2012
Lol
jbbroncosfan27 - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Rahim gets another chance next year
don’t disappoint me, preseason Atwater….
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Went through last year's draft picks
Seems to like them still. Maybe too optimistic on some.
John in Castle Rock - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Did they say anything specific about Irving or J. Thomas? They just seemed to disappear.
jbbroncosfan27 - January 16, 2012 via mobile
He said Irving played well on special teams. Nothing beyond that.
And he mentioned that Thomas may have “had a hard time rebounding” form his ankle sprain against the Bungles
Teboner - January 16, 2012
Anything on Nate Irving?
ElwayFanJ - January 16, 2012
Best line
“No, I intend to yell from the balcony” when asked if he will coach Tim from field
John in Castle Rock - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Yeah that cracked me up
Elway is a sarcastic smartass and I love it
DominantDenverDefense - January 16, 2012
yelling from the balcony sounds dope
guess I should do that at Church next Sunday!
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Elway: "I'm so dirty rich I could buy up all your contracts and pay my own staff to ask better questions."
not really though.
oxmouth - January 16, 2012
Is it streaming smooth for you guys?
Pretty choppy on my end
ElwayFanJ - January 16, 2012
Well if we’re still looking for pass rush, I like Dont’a Hightower out of Alabama…he plays ILB and can move to the DE position to pass rush
broncoholic - January 16, 2012
There's no way he's getting past the Steelers
Unless they make a mistake
ElwayFanJ - January 16, 2012
But the Steelers are loaded at the LB position
broncoholic - January 16, 2012
They always are
Because they don’t pass up on talented LBs. Too important to their system.
ncm42 - January 16, 2012
Ah, point taken…if Denver can’t get a MLB or DT of good value at their position in the first round, maybe they could take Mark Barron…there’s a lot of options right now
broncoholic - January 16, 2012
I'm a little (a lot) ignorant on draft prospects
What do you like about Mark Barron?
ncm42 - January 16, 2012
Well, he is good in run support…hits hard. It looks like he has some ball skills too. To me, it looks like he flies to the ball. Just from my limited analysis haha
broncoholic - January 16, 2012
He's good
But a strong safety is not really a 1st round position – even if he is a 1st round talent.
yibberat - January 16, 2012
I would be thrilled to see Barron in Denver. Travis Lewis could be there in the 2nd for us.
AvalancheRescueDog - January 16, 2012
Steelers are addicted to linebackers
and Giants lust after pass rushers, so i can see Hightower in black and gold :(
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
The Mike LB isn't the key to pass rush
although the middle of the defense is the place to focus. A good penetrating 3-tech DT is what the Broncos need to disrupt the pocket from the middle. We already have good outside pass rushers.
Broncologist - January 16, 2012
That’s true…
broncoholic - January 16, 2012
The 2012 Denver Broncos...
… now with 25% more penetration up the middle.
Tezcatlipoca - January 16, 2012
Absolutely. The two biggest deficiencies on our D, even over our need at CB and FS.
Too many runs up the middle that found Mays out of position, unable to make a play. And the teams began to figure out how to let our rushers (Doom and Miller) go wide and have the QB step up, we need that penetration, that push up the middle. It will make Doom and Miller look better not to mention our defensive backfield, push up the middle, push up the middle…let’s all chant together please…“push up the middle”.
rubincarterrocks - January 16, 2012
push up the middle
and sorry Joe, you’ve got a big heart, but you make too many mistakes so you probably belong with the Saskatchewan Roughriders…
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
We already have a lindebacker that occasionally fills in for DE
we need a MLB
Calikula - January 16, 2012
No better way to supplement this news than with a MOCK DRAFT
Sayre Bedinger - January 16, 2012
Oh no...
It begins!
ncm42 - January 16, 2012
David Wilson in the 2nd?
AvalancheRescueDog - January 16, 2012
And so it begins...
moondoggie12 - January 16, 2012
BRING IT, SAYRE!!!
Sorry, just started another round of P90X….
pubkeeper - January 16, 2012
1st Round LT??
I am thinking best LT available at 25 and then move Orlando to Guard and have Beadles as a back up T/G. Thoughts?
FtCoNative - January 16, 2012
LT is Clady we're set there
Franklin is RT but yeah he would make a better guard. I suppose it depends on how confident the coaches are in their ability to make a good RT out of him.
MrFNSunshine - January 16, 2012
Meant College LT
Would move new guy to RT. Look at good teams in league. They have been emphasizing edge rushers from both sides and stockpiling good pass protecting tackles to counter rush from both edges. Depends on what else is available at 25, but it may be worth looking into.
FtCoNative - January 16, 2012
100% agree
And it is more necessary for us because Tebow is lefthanded and that is his blindside
yibberat - January 16, 2012
I thought Franklin did well for a rookie. You could see his footwork in pass protection improve as the year went
on, he looks very athletic for a guy his size. It’s harder to find a tackle than it is a guard. Keep him there I say, I think we have a keeper, even, dare I say… a pro-bowler at some point in time at RT.
rubincarterrocks - January 16, 2012
Franklin’s too tall to be a guard. At 6’7" Tebow wouldnt be able to see over him. And its not that easy to get someone to switch from LT to RT. Thats like asking a right handed batter to learn to bat left handed
Calikula - January 16, 2012
This ^
This has been discussed on numerous other posts and threads.
DominantDenverDefense - January 16, 2012
Actually virtually every college o-line forces players to play at multiple positions
Franklin mostly played at LG in college, RT for part of a year, LT as a senior. Clady is probably too old to change positions. Kuper definitely. But anyone else – Beadles, Franklin, etc is pretty easy to switch them.
yibberat - January 16, 2012
Yo Sayre
I plan to watch the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl!
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
For those of us not on Twitter
Will there be a transcript of the press conference posted here?
ncm42 - January 16, 2012
Best line of the presser!
after asked if he would be on the field to help Tebow……Naw I’m just going to yell at him from my office window! LOVED IT
Scottey15 - January 16, 2012
I for one, hoping EFX stay the course and not spend a lot of money on FA’s….(like shanahan). Let’s build thru the draft.
Kronis - January 16, 2012
With 22 mil under the cap
we can’t pass up any opportunity to improve an area of weakness on the team. We need to get Bailey and Dawkins SB rings before they retire :)
Disturbed70 - January 16, 2012
It would be a shame if we didn't get at least Champ his.
it may be too late for Dawkins depending on how bad that neck of his is.
MrFNSunshine - January 16, 2012
Hopefully then we can get Dawkins his
as a coach.
rubincarterrocks - January 16, 2012
Yeah, the NFL isn't MLB.
There’s a hard cap and pretty much every team has the money to use that space. The Broncos need help at FS, SS, CB, MLB, DT, OT, OG, RB, WR, and TE. There’s only so many draft picks. Fill half with the draft and pick up FAs to cover the rest.
Tezcatlipoca - January 16, 2012
Not to mention a FA is going to be a guy who knows the ropes already
Rookies straight outta college need time to develop in most cases.
MrFNSunshine - January 16, 2012
place more emphasis
on draft picks than free agents, especially since the new CBA dictates that rookies are cheaper
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Biggest issue:
Tie up Prater and Colquit. Then Bunkley and Thomas. Others may be replaceable….
Gulbrand - January 16, 2012
+ 1000
ncm42 - January 16, 2012
Bunkey Thomas prayer woodyard need to be resigned. I’d like hunter as a back up and Eddie if he’s real cheap otherwise other guys can be replaced if not resigned cheaply.
Definitely seems we want pass rushers and guys that can cover on D. Love it.
BroncofanfromBoston - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Prayer? Would that be Tebow? He's already signed.
JohnCalvinKnox - January 16, 2012
I'd like to see Mario Haggan back as a backup also
Calikula - January 16, 2012
the Giants' methodology works
because every time they get into the playoffs they go far. John Fox is just as good of a coach as Tom Coughlin
the new Bradfather - January 16, 2012
Eddie Royal is done as a Bronco, IMO
We need taller receivers and he wants a QB who throws more than 15-20 times per game.
Schwerepunkt - January 16, 2012
hey thanks u guys.
I’m not able to participate so I’m getin the low down from yall. Haha I said yall.

So much unintentional hilarity…
Tezcatlipoca - January 16, 2012
Well that'll put to rest the ridiculous
“Elway will trade Tebow to Jax for their 1st rounder and then we will package that along with x to get QB y” posts. I hope anyway
Calikula - January 16, 2012
I wouldn't bet on it
yibberat - January 16, 2012
Ugh, I thought about that right after I posted this
