The comments attributed to me in a recent magazine article are in NO WAY reflective of my opinion of Tim and the Broncos. Tim deserves alot of credit for our success and I’m happy for him and what he accomplished. Most importantly, he is a great teammate. That interview was conducted three months ago, and the resulting story was a completely inaccurate portrayal of my comments. I have addressed my disappointment with the writer and have reached out to Tim to clear this up. I apologize to anyone who feels I was trying to take anything away from our Team’s or Tim’s success this season.
Brady Quinn on Silver article
Damage control!
BroncoMath101 - February 21, 2012
Probably not
Michael Silver is a {_______}. I am inclined to believe Quinn on this one over believing in Silver’s positioning.
Bradoncadonc - February 21, 2012
Well its still damage control.
BroncoMath101 - February 21, 2012
Everybody is aware of Mike Silver's sensationalist attitude with sports figures just to make a gain for himself.
Anything this punk says should be taken as a grain of salt…
bfree2bronc - February 21, 2012
He might mean it or not
He is at least saying and doing the right things the real culprit is silver, he is scum, along with many others in media, they just want the attention, so they ll twist and make up things just to get any recognition, how freaking pathetic
Den97winben - February 21, 2012
Its all good man. It gave me a chance to write "nutshot" again.
Zac Man - February 21, 2012
Best comment of the night!
boydy2669 - February 21, 2012
Yup, another Silver anti-Tebow article
The explanations were:
1) Quinn wants out of Denver
2) The interview caught him on a bad day
3) Silver wanted another attention grabbing story (did you see the headline?!?) so he twisted comments out of context to get more buzz
Summitgrad - February 21, 2012
I believe the first two and part of the third. All he did though was directly quote Quinn. I don't see much twisting.
Now his inference that lead up to and conclusions from the comments may be wrong but the comments IMO were not twisted. They were just laid out there for us to read.
I hate Silver and think he is a hack but I think Brady was complaining and sour about not being give the opportunity ahead of Tebow and he probably should have kept his mouth shut instead of venting to a magazine about it.
BroncoMath101 - February 21, 2012
Quinn is still gone and Silver is still the same douche. They both are irrelevant to me in Denver Broncos football in 2012. can this offseason go by any quicker please.
BroncofanfromBoston - February 21, 2012
I'll take Quinn's word over Silver's any day of the week.
And I’m sorry to Quinn for overreacting so quickly on something Silver wrote. The guy is going to run out of players to name-drop in his columns really quickly if he doesn’t learn to quit stirring the pot for no good reason.
Poster_Formerly_Known_As_Royal_Fan - February 21, 2012
he writes about
Cal Lady Golden Bears softball more than anything right now, he’s just a proud alum
the new Bradfather - February 21, 2012
A bunch of Twitter trolls have come out against me
in regard to this, oh well, persecution is worth it when we’re hoisting the Lombardi trophy, screw the haters!
the new Bradfather - February 21, 2012
I don't doubt that Quinn actually believes the things he said in the article.
And they aren’t entirely baseless either but he was wrong to say them and throw a teammate under the bus. This is just him trying to save face so teams aren’t scared away by him once free agency hits.
Eddie.Teach - February 21, 2012
I've been where Brady Quinn is
emotionally at my job sometimes and it sucks. Sometimes, I say things I don’t mean when I’m frustrated. However, Quinn makes a pretty penny for never playing, he could go to a job in the conventional working world and have nothing. Things could be worse BQ, just shut up please
the new Bradfather - February 21, 2012
Brady was baited.
BroncoRick69 - February 21, 2012
maybe.
But this isn’t some guy who has never dealt with the media. A Notre Dame QB, first round pick and subsequent bust will give you plenty of media attention. He should know better than be duped into giving a controversial answer even if he was baited.
Eddie.Teach - February 21, 2012
Media . BleH. Think for yourself Question it ALL!!!
CenCalBronco - February 21, 2012 via mobile
that's exactly right
the first thing I learned in Journalism 101 in college is, the media needs to tell people how to think, not what to think….
the new Bradfather - February 21, 2012
Another thing we have in common Bradfather
Majored in journalism and now work as a copy-editor/designer at a newspaper.
Although the first thing we were taught was a solid fear about not getting AP Style correct lol.
Poster_Formerly_Known_As_Royal_Fan - February 21, 2012
Absolutely the AP is everything to me
that stylebook was my Gentile Bible
the new Bradfather - February 21, 2012
my favorite part
of this whole brouhaha is how Silver writes about how he’s mystified about how Quinn comes across in an article he wrote.
tunesmith - February 21, 2012
rec'ed (I hope)
it is unnerving to see the number “1” come up next to “flag” when there is a slow connection to the net……..
idahobronc - February 21, 2012
mine has done that every time
for months. I thought it was a firefox thing since the upgrade to ten. I just ignore it now :(
Sean in Pa. - February 21, 2012
Notice the apology...
He doesn’t dispute SAYING those things…
He simply says they aren’t ‘reflective’ of what he believes.
Regardless of Mr. Silver being a douch bag, Quinn said what he meant and meant what he said. He has himself to blame for what he SAID, he just gave Silver what he was hoping for.
