2012 Bronco Draft

Round 1: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame: The safety pickings are slim here, and we can get a DT in Round 2. Plus, another WR would help Tebow tremendously.

Round 2: Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson: Can be a good partner for Bunkley. A disruptive player.

Round 3: Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma St: Runs a 4.47 40. Complete safety. Good hitter and good in coverage.

Round 4: Joe Adams, WR, Arkansas: Can replace Royal in the return game.

Round 5, Pick 1: Bobby Rainey, RB, Western Kentucky: Can be a late-round steal and good compliment to Willis McGahee.

Round 5, Pick 2: Asa Jackson, CB, Cal Poly: Good tackler, and can also help out in the return game.

Round 7: Chad Diehl, FB, Clemson: Great lead blocker for McGahee and Rainey.

This is the first draft I've seen Bobby Rainey picked. I think he could be a good sleeper later in the draft.

Overall good mock but I don’t like your 1st pick. Not sure about picking a guy with Character concerns that high when he most likely won’t even be the BPA at 25. This is a pretty deep draft for WR so I’d rather have a guy like Brian Quick in rd 3 than Floyd in rd 1 personally.

I think Bobby Rainey could be productive too.

I’m not talking Lamar Miller-type production. But I think he can make nice contributions to a team in a Lance Ball-type of role. That said, since we already have one Lance Ball, I don’t want another.

I like Bobby too.

I would have loved to mock him, but I think we should give Moreno 1 MORE YEAR . That’s it. He’s gone next year if he can’t even prove to be our pass catching back, which is what I envision Rainey as. B. Rainey is almost a Sproles clone, except his build is more balanced.

If we go offense with the first pick it should be a rb IMO

Lots of good wideouts in this draft to grab one later, and I would rather keep Moreno and let ball walk, Morenos contract is pretty cheap, so I’d like to see if he can put a whole season together

I agree.

I’m with you: High quality receivers can be had in the third and fourth. DeMarcus Van Dyke claims he believes Tommy Streeter will match or beat Van Dyke’s time of 4.28 in the 40 yard-dash. As you likely know, Streeter is 6’5 and 215.

Another report said Wake Forest’s Chris Givens will surprise some people in all the speed and agility drills. Couple that with nice production against some corners who will be drafted this April and he might not last past the second.

I think we will re-sign some of the veterans your letting go...

The fact that Fox mentioned Ty Warren might say nothing and again it might speak volumes of how EFX feel about him. Royal is one of those guys you want on the team but might not want to pay him what he thinks he’s worth. We don’t know that yet and he has said he would like ot come back. Derrick Harvey will compete for a roster spot in TC. Personal reason asside, Knowshon is cheap and probably will hang around until at least final cuts. Mario Fannin could make Fox’s decision on Moreno more easier. Joe Mays may hang around too.

I'm not a real fan of this draft

We won’t be taking a WR in the first round under any circumstances.

I don't want Floyd. I just dont like him.

If we go offense, it will be RB i believe. Only WR i’d take who MIGHT be available would be Kendall Wright.

We need to address the RB position better than that. McGahee wore down, down the stretch. He’s a year older, and Fox already said he doesnt want McGahee carrying the load. Fox has a history of taking backs early, so don’t be shocked if we go one in rounds 1-3

I think we’ll sign more than 3 FA’s

I agree with Scotty, I wouldn't take a WR in the first.

I would let DT/Decker continue to develope. However I like the Joe Adams selection. Like you said, he would do the same things as Royal.

The one thing I like the most about your mock offseason, is that you didn’t bring in another MLB. I like that you have Irving the starter—it’s the way it should be. Just like the broncos have to find out what they had in Tebow, the broncos have to do the same with Irving. With that said, people are going to have to take in the good and bad with Irving’s first year starting. Just like a rookie QB has ups and downs, Irving will too. Same can be said about other positions. In other words, let this young/talented team develope. As far as I can see, you’re letting that happen. Just change the first pick and I’d be fine with this offsesaon.

I really hope the broncos draft Poe. He’s my favorite prospect in the draft. Gotta love a big guy that can move like he can. To me he’s the best d-linemen in the draft. Just ask yourself, would you draft Haloti Ngata or even a poor mans Haloti Ngata? That would not only help the entire d-line including the pass rush, but he would also help Irving. Playing behind two stud DTs makes a MLB’s job easy. Sounds like something Rio had with the Jags in Henderson/Stroud.

Syd;Quan Thompson

what is the story on him, has he gone to trial?

I want Larsen back

Full Backs wont break the bank and I feel he is a real good player and a great special team player.
