Doug Martin is listed at 5'9" and 218lbs with 4.48 speed. Refered to as the "muscle hamster" by his teammates in college due to his compact build. Is great between the tackles and has some breakaway speed, but did play in a non-BCS division. Does have some problems holding onto the ball, 8 total fumbles last 3 years. With McGahee having that problem last year, do we need somebody else fumbling. Of course Peterson had that problem, and it got fixed. Would commend our 2nd round pick to get. Is that where EFX are looking to add a back. I think if this is there RB in the draft, there would go after a low FA, like Forest or Norwood.
Other later round backs we could see are:
Robert Turbin from Utah State, listed at 5'9" and 216lbs with 4.57 speed. Has 2 consecutive seasons with more then 1,200 yards and more then 13 TD's. Has only fumbled 4 times in college on 545 carries. Is reliable out of the back field with 66 catches in 3 years. Is a tough inside runner, but don't expect him to break off long runs. With his running for 1,500 yards and scoring 19 TDs last year, Utah State made a Bowl game for the first time since 1997. Injuries cought him in 2007 with a foot injury causing him to redshirt and 2010 with a torn ACL. Turbin would probably cost us a 4th round pick.
Chris Rainey from Florida, listed at only 5'8" and 178lbs, but has blazing 4.36 speed. Rainey has the best cut ability and striaght line speed in the draft. I see him more as a WR at the next level. You could also see him in the return game and in the back field with his old teammate Timmy. In his first 4 years in college he only fumbled 5 times on 225 carries, but last year he fumbled 6 times on 155 carries. I don't know what his problem was last year, but hopefully he gets that fixed. During his time with Timmy, he averaged 7.1 yards a carry. not bad. I think he could add some speed this team is lacking, but might have to us our 3rd round pick on him.
Of course the are others, but I'm going to stop there. Who do you goes want? A proven vet who has a noise for the endzone? Or a rookie who can prove himself this year and take over for McGahee next year? Or do you want both? Let you voice be heard. Have a great day and Go Broncos!!!

Other.
Package all our players who suck and trade them to Indy for the first pick and then draft Lamar Miller.
Agent Jerry Fletcher - February 22, 2012
Miami (FL) RB Lamar Miller
has reportedly recovered from postseason shoulder surgery and has been running forty times in the mid-4.3s during pre-Combine training.
Digger24 - February 22, 2012
Yes, Miller at 25 would be nice.
Scotty Payne - February 22, 2012
and at this point might not be a reach.
Bron#1 Fan - February 22, 2012
I'm hoping he's there. I think Cinci could take him.
I doubt he falls out of the 1st though. New England and GB needing a better threat at RB. A trade back into the early 2nd could work, and still get him, if we’re lucky
Scotty Payne - February 22, 2012
I am sold on Miller at #25 if he's there.
Rodney also was very influential though in saying for monetary reasons signing a FA RB and drafting a starting CB would be the way to go. If we didn’t get a starting CB in FA and a starting CB is still there at #25 that is the pick IMO.
Digger24 - February 22, 2012
To be honest, there isnt many RB's in FA that excite me though
Forte, Rice, and Foster won’t hit the market. Though Foster may be tendered, so we could possibly try that. Bush will be over payed, so will Lynch(plus off the field issues). Hillis could be an intriguing option, but who knows what hillis we’ll get.
I’d love to get Tolbert, but he won’t be a legit back, to compliment McGahee. Plus McGahee will be gone after next year i believe, so you have to believe Fox will draft a guy early to take over for him next year.
Scotty Payne - February 22, 2012
You were saying Bengals will get Miller.
What if we get Benson to share the load with McGahee? It would be an incentive contrct I’m sure. I love incentive contracts.
Digger24 - February 22, 2012
For some reason, it's easy to envision him in a Bengal uni.
If they get Miller and if Dalton and Green continue to improve, the Bengals will have a scary offense.
Agent Jerry Fletcher - February 22, 2012
I was joking about trading for the #1 pick.
I’m slowly accepting the fact that he’ll be gone long before we pick.
Where did you see the specific times? I’ve only seen comments. Stuff like, “Miller looked super fast at pre-Combine workouts.” One article characterized his first two post-surgery 40’s as “BLAZING.”
Agent Jerry Fletcher - February 22, 2012
It's from rotoworld.
Digger24 - February 22, 2012
Okay thanks.
I guess mid-4.3s could be accurately described as “BLAZING.”
Agent Jerry Fletcher - February 22, 2012
Heck yes!
Now word is richardson won’t run or do drills at the combine. His knee is not ready. he may have a Peterson type slippage. With Miller right at his heels.
Digger24 - February 22, 2012
he's being compared to Jamal Charles
not a bad person to resemble.
PaleHorse78 - February 23, 2012
If we have to have a Rainey (and I know Chris Rainey gets a lot of love around here) I'd rather wait later and grab Bobby Rainey.
He may not be as fast but is about as tall and weighs about 30 lbs more. He doesn’t run a 4.36 but runs about a 4.48 which is still plenty fast for a RB (about Ray Rice speed).
BroncoMath101 - February 22, 2012
HE looks good also,
2 1,600 yard seasons to go with 28 TDs for Western Kentucky. Also looks to be a good receiver out of the back field with 65 catchs last 2 years also. But what was his competition??? Can he translate that to the NFL? Could be a Mike Anderson, Orlandis Gary type of a pick up.
Bron#1 Fan - February 22, 2012
I think it is much easier for a RB to translate to the NFL than other positions.
Look at all the late round successes at RB.
BroncoMath101 - February 22, 2012
With the exception being Moreno right???
Just kidding, you said late round, not 1st round bust. I would love to get Miller from Miami, but think he coudl be gone by #25. Wilson not crazy about. Of all the backs in the draft I see Richardson and Miller being really good. With Miller being the best. I think Richardson gets over hyped at times. Why was he 2nd behind Ingram last year, if he projects to better then him in the pros? Or is it that Ingram was better then expected for the Saints. I think Miller could take over for McGahee this year.
Bron#1 Fan - February 22, 2012
I like the later rounds
I like chris Rainey’s speed and the things he brings to special teams . There is just so much you can do with him like the Vikings do with Harvin and remember the headache Sprolls has been also McCluster of the Chiefs . I’d use the seventh round pick on Darell Scott of South Florida 6’1’’ 240 lbs. 4.48 forty grate size and speed he is worth a shot at the end of the draft . This allows them to focus on the defense at the front of the draft where most of the teams needs are .
ultraclassic04 - February 22, 2012
Chris Rainey probably will be a 3rd round pick
Scotty Payne - February 22, 2012
Chris Rainey is a ST Beast
He returns punts and KOs. He also blocked 4 punts making him very versatile. Since all Gator receivers are expected to block, he probably can do this as well. He is the only Gator ever to have a rushing TD, Receiving TD and blocked punt return TD in the same game.
cyngato - February 22, 2012
If it was my draft to pick i would draft a DT (BPA) at 25, Martin/Turbin 2nd and Chris Rainey 3rd.
I’m nearly 100% positive we will draft a RB in this class, but which one EFX have atop their board is a mystery to me. It could be anywhere from Richardson to Demps, and anyone inbetween. Rainey is an explosion waiting to happen and I like him better than I do McCluster for some reason only my brain knows. Though a little light, he is a down away from finding the endzone…
bfree2bronc - February 22, 2012
Really depends on what DT is available
Brockers will be gone, Still probably will, Cox has the potential to be gone earlier he’s a great pass rusher.
That leaves Thompson, Worthy and Poe. I’d be okay with taking poe, i just don’t know what kind of pass rush he would bring. I really like his potential, but will he rush the passer, or just be a run stopping beast? Personally i would take him IF he’s there. He could be a 3-4 NT/DE and they go off the board fast.
I really don’t like worthy, people question his motor. Thompson i like, but he might be there in the 2nd
Ideally, i’d love to get Miller at 25, and a Kendall Reyes, Mike Martin, DaJon Harris in the 2-3 rounds. I also think we will address the DT position in FA.
Scotty Payne - February 22, 2012
I watched this thing on ESPN...
…called the All-Star Sports Skills Competition or something like that. It’s where players who’ve declared for the draft have some fun competing in obstacle courses and passing drills and the like. It was silly.
But even so, it was hard not to be impressed with Fletcher Cox’s athleticism. There were quite a few interesting players there – Coples, Floyd, Sanu and Melvin Ingram.
Melvin Ingram’s built weird. And he kinda looks like the guy on that cell phone commercial who puts his foot in his mouth at the taco party outside Mike’s office.

Then again, seeing them side-by-side, maybe not.
Coples looks lazy. Like he’s too cool to compete. Floyd was athletic as heck and ripped. He’s got arms like Tebow. Sanu looked out of place.
Agent Jerry Fletcher - February 22, 2012
I'd be thrilled with Ingram or Cox
I think Fox might even trade up for one of them. Walter has Devon Still falling to us at #25…. I’d take that too.
PaleHorse78 - February 23, 2012
The thing that worries me about Ingram...
…is he wasn’t as prolific as you’d expect. Using KK’s stats from his production ration posts, I derived total tackles per game played. Ingram’s numbers weren’t impressive at all. I think he averaged about 2 tackles per game. He might be a great athlete but I’m not sure he’s a great football player.
And then I think, well, maybe opponents focused on neutralizing him. I can tell you, having watched South Carolina play a few times, the opposition’s main goal was trying to contain Jadeveon Clowney, who’s only a freshman but one of the most explosive defenders I’ve ever seen.
Maybe I’m misreading the situation.
Agent Jerry Fletcher - February 23, 2012
Dude looks like Idi Amin or Chuka Zulu the Warrior!
bfree2bronc - February 23, 2012
I think a lot of people are overlooking Vick Ballard out of Mississippi State
We could probably get him with our second 5th round pick. He’s a durable productive bruiser from a run heavy program.
ElwayFanJ - February 22, 2012
Hell yeah to Ballard in the late 5th.
Even early 5th, but we will already have someone by then I’m afraid.
Digger24 - February 22, 2012
+1
Thought long and hard about taking Ballard in the 5th but we will probably have drafted someone by then.
broncos7life - February 22, 2012
I think the primary focus would be to grab a speedster
but we may be in the market for 2 RB’s come draft day. Fox sure does love his backfield.
